Ever wondered how your meals on board were produced?
15 lucky Changi Rewards members and guests had a private guided tour of the state-of-the-art in-flight meals production facility housing at the SATS Inflight Catering Centre 1, which housed a slew of the latest kitchen technologies used to produce a wide range of authentic cuisines from around the world, specially for customers travelling in the air.
Members were invited to redeem their Changi Rewards points for a place at the exclusive SATS tour – an inaugural event just for Changi Rewards members.
The event kicked off bright and early at SATS Inflight Catering Centre, as everyone got a deeper insight into the SATS services and were presented with a preview of the high-tech in-house kitchen technologies.
Safety and hygiene are top priorities at SATS. Excitement and anticipation filled the room, as everyone donned dust coats, face masks and safety shoes before embarking on the kitchen tour.
Did you know that our palate reacts differently to food taste because of cabin pressure during flight? Guests had a chance to step into the flight cabin simulator where catering chefs put sample food to test, so as to ensure that food taste just as delicious when the airplane flies at 30,000 feet in the air.
What better way to end a tour with delicious food, prepared right from the SATS Kitchen. Guests enjoyed light refreshments at the end of the tour, and walked away with a goodie bag consisting of exclusive SATS Ready-To-Cook sauces of assorted flavours.
