15 lucky Changi Rewards members and guests made a visit to SATS Inflight Catering Centre 1, embarking on an exclusive private tour to gain an insight on how meals onboard were cooked and prepared.

The tour started off with an introduction of SATS and a summary of the variety of SATS services, leading up to the well-anticipated kitchen tour.

As hygiene is one of SATS’ top priorities, all attendees got to experience the stringent hygiene standards. Guest put on dustcoats, hair and face masks and covered shoes before the tour commenced. On top of that, an air shower was also mandatory for anyone who enters the kitchen premises.



With over 60 years of in-flight catering experience, SATS produces up to 80,000 meals per day. Several considerations were kept in mind throughout the entire production process, including high food safety standards, the nutritional value of each meal and other dietary requirements that passengers may have. In addition, SATS has ethnic specialty kitchens – catering to Chinese, Thai, Indian, Muslim, Japanese and other cuisines. This has created a unique and delectable experience for every individual.

The tour ended on a high note as the attendees enjoyed light refreshments and a wide array of dishes. The dishes served were special off-the-menu chef creations and represented each of the different ethnic specialty kitchens.

After a hearty meal, each attendee went home with a goodie bag consisting of Changi Rewards premiums and exclusive SATS Ready-To-Cook sauces.
