What is the Refer A Friend programme about?

To reward members for spreading the word about the Changi Rewards programme, we’re offering 100 Referral Points to you when your referrals join Changi Rewards. Plus, your friends get 100 points^ when they register, so it’s a win-win for everyone!

^Members who sign up as Changi Rewards member without a referral get a sign-up bonus of 50 points only. If you sign up with a referral, you will get 50 + 50 points – that’s 100 points – for the registration.

How does the Refer A Friend programme work?

For the referrer – First, join Changi Rewards! Then log in to your Changi Rewards account, and share with your friends directly through the Changi Rewards member’s portal via email.

You will need to enter the names and email addresses of those friends you want to refer. Your friends will get an invitation email to sign up for the Changi Rewards membership.

You will get 100 Referral Points for every unique friend you refer who signs up using the referral link and complete his or his registration. For you to receive the Referral Points, friends must sign up through the unique link in the invitation email and complete the registration.

We will credit your Referral Points once your friend completes his or her registration. You may log on to your account to track your referral status, and view your referral points earned.

Referral Points are no different from Changi Rewards points; valid till 30 June of the year, and redeemable for Changi Dollar vouchers and other rewards, as set forth in the Changi Rewards Programme Terms and Conditions.

For the friend - The friend also earns 100 points^, credited upon completion of their registration.

Can I refer someone that already has a Changi Rewards membership?

No, your referral must be a new customer to Changi Rewards.

How do I check if my friend is an existing Changi Rewards member?

Due to our privacy policy, we cannot disclose the information on whether your friend is already a member of Changi Rewards. Hence, we encourage you to check back on the status of the referral, by logging in to your Changi Rewards account on the Member’s Portal.

What can I earn for the successful referral?

Earn 100 points for every unique friend you bring to Changi Rewards, plus bonus of 1 Golden Village Movie Gift Voucher (while stocks last) for every 10 friends that you refer to Changi Rewards. You can earn up to 5000 Referral Points and 5 Golden Village Movie Gift Voucher per programme year (that’s 50 successful referrals)!

How long and what are my Referral Points good for?

Your earned Referral Points are no different from regular Changi Rewards, and must be redeemed within three (3) months after the end of the programme year (i.e. before 30 June), failing which they will expire automatically as set forth in the Changi Rewards Programme Terms and Conditions. No request for extension of expiry will be entertained.

You can redeem Changi Rewards points for Changi Dollar vouchers at the conversion rate of 500 points = S$5, and other exciting rewards.

When do I receive my 100 points for referring a friend?

Your 100 points will be automatically credited to your account when your friend successfully registers for the programme via the unique link in the invitation email. You’ll receive an email notifying you that your 100 points have been credited to your account! You can log on to your account to track your referral status and points balance.

What must my friend to do enjoy the bonus points from my referral?

Your friend must sign up by clicking on the unique link in the invitation email, and complete his or her registration on the page.

If my friend applies for Changi Rewards card in another way (e.g. at booth, Take-One Card, website, word of mouth), will I receive credit for the invitation?

No. Your friend must apply through the unique link in the invitation email, in order for you to be awarded Referral Points for the referral.

How quickly will my friend receive my email?

Your friend will receive your email once you click “Send Invite”. A message “Invitation sent successfully” will appear on the page, once you clicked ‘Send Invite’. To send an invitation, please log in to the Member’s Portal.

Will all of my invited friends receive an email?

If your friend is an existing Changi Rewards member and, is on our email opt-out list, or if the email address you provided is incorrect or no longer valid, your friend may not receive the email. If these reasons do not apply to the friend invited, please have your friend check their spam folder.

Will you use my friends' email addresses to solicit them for other products and services from Changi Rewards?

No, we will only use your friends' email addresses in order to send them the invitation email for Changi Rewards. We will not save the email addresses or share them with a third party.

How do I know if my friend registered?

Log in to your online account, click on “Refer A Friend”, and view “My Referral History. The status of each referral will be updated as friends successfully register, so be sure to check back by logging on to the Member’s Portal to view your total points earned. You’ll also receive a notification email from us that the points have been credited.

Can I refer myself?

No, referrals are only open to friends.

What if two people refer the same friend?

If two people refer the same friend, whichever unique link that the friend clicks on to access the registration page first, will be awarded referral points if that friend then registers for Changi Rewards.

I sent a referral invitation to a friend and they had a status of “Pending”… all of a sudden they switched to “Rejected”, why did this happen?

Lots of Changi Rewards members want to spread the word and, at times, people may refer the same friends. If your friend clicked on someone else’s referral link and joined, that friend would now show up as “Rejected” in your invite status section.

How many people can I refer?

There is no limit to the number of friends and family you can refer, so if you’re especially popular, this could really pay off. However, you can only earn up to 5,000 Referral Points and 5 Golden Village Movie Gift Voucher within each programme year (that’s 50 successful referrals!).

I shared with my friends through my own email, on Facebook or Twitter – how come I can't see the status of those referrals?

When sharing directly with your network and not through the Refer A Friend page on the Member’s Portal, your referrals will not appear on your “My Referral History”, and you and your referred friends will not receive the Referral Points.

Are my points earned for this programme counted towards the cumulative nett spend for Changi Rewards Gold or Platinum Tier Membership Qualification?

No. Cumulative nett spend for tier qualification is only based on qualifying purchases made at participating Changi Airport outlets only.


Terms and Conditions:
  1. The Changi Rewards Refer a Friend Programme is open only to registered members of the Changi Rewards Programme (“members”). If you are not a member of the Changi Rewards Programme, you must first register for the Changi Rewards Programme to participate in the Refer a Friend Programme.
  2. Members can earn 100 points (“Referral Points”) that may be used towards future Changi Rewards redemption by inviting a friend who is not a member of Changi Rewards to register as a member of Changi Rewards. Referral Points are redeemable as set forth in the Changi Rewards Programme Terms and Conditions.
  3. A referred person must register for the Changi Rewards Programme after accessing the Programme registration page using the unique link in the member’s referral email with the unique Referral Code at the registration page, in order for the member who made the referral to get the Referral Points credited for the referral.
  4. Only the member whose referral link is used to access the registration page will get credit for the referral, even if other members referred the same person.
  5. The referred person will earn 100 points upon successful registration as a member of the Changi Rewards programme.
  6. The 100 Referral Points will be automatically credited into a member’s account upon the referred member’s successful registration.
  7. For every 10 successfully referred persons, the member will receive 1 Golden Village Movie Gift Voucher in addition to the Referral Points, while stocks last.
  8. A member may earn up to a maximum of 5,000 Referral Points and 5 Golden Village Movie Gift Voucher (50 successful referrals) within a particular Programme Year. Referral Points are redeemable as set forth in the Changi Rewards Program Terms and Conditions. The use and/or conversion of points may be subject to further terms and conditions or restrictions and CAG may, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, modify, suspend or terminate the Programme, and/or modify these terms & conditions in such manner as CAG considers fit. Changi Rewards points earned in a Programme Year must be redeemed within three (3) months after the end of the programme year (i.e. before end June of the relevant calendar year), failing which they will expire automatically. No request for extension of expiry will be entertained.
  9. A member must disclose the fact that he or she is a Changi Rewards customer when making referrals. Members must agree to let their Referees know that they are the Referrer and that they may receive a Referral Points if the Referee signs up for Changi Rewards membership. Member will not receive Referral Points if the referrals are rejected or are not received for any reason, including if the Referee does not satisfy the requirements in section one of these Terms, or if Member fail to comply with any of the obligations of the Programme or these Terms.
  10. Members should only send referrals to persons that they know personally, whom they think would be interested in joining the Changi Rewards Programme and they should honor all requests to stop referrals or communications about the Programme. Members should not engage in any misleading, deceptive, annoying, or harassing practices with respect to referrals or Programme communications.
  11. Due to our privacy policy, we cannot inform the Member if the Referee is already a member of Changi Rewards; if the Member submit their names and sent an email invitation, Member will simply have to check back on the Referral Status by logging on to the Member’s Portal.
  12. Members who send invitations to themselves at alternate email addresses or accounts or otherwise attempting to defraud the Refer a Friend Programme may result in forfeiture of Changi Rewards Programme membership and all Referral Points in their account.
  13. The Referral emails that are sent to Referees for the purpose of the Refer A Friend programme, will be the only communication they receive from Changi Rewards, until they have joined Changi Rewards and agreed to the Changi Rewards Programme Terms & Conditions. Their email address and details will not be used for any other purpose until this time.
  14. Changi Rewards reserves the right to void referrals and Referral Points if we suspect that the Referral Points were earned in a fraudulent manner, in a manner that violates these Terms and Conditions, or in a manner otherwise not intended by Changi Rewards.
  15. Any eligible persons invited via email invitations sent by Changi Rewards (initiated through the changirewards.com Member’s Portal) will appear in the “My Referral History” section of Member’s Refer a Friend page. Any persons invited via invitation sent through a direct email, will not appear on the Status section of the Refer a Friend page, and member will not earn any Referral Points.
  16. Changi Rewards reserves the right to modify or cancel the Refer a Friend Programme or restrict its availability to any person, at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice or liability. Modifications may include, without limitation, changes to how members earn Referral Points, expiration period for Referral Points, and changes that affect the value of the Referral Points. Any modification will be effective upon posting of modified Terms and Conditions on the Changi Rewards Website.
